As far as I know, there's no term serving as the middle ground between traditional and contemporary country. I just can't bring myself to call this album contemporary country, since the chart-topping representatives of the genre seem to be concerned only about having a cold one. Let's follow the latest trends and dub Ashley's music iCountry, because it's intelligent, elegant and sophisticated. It resembles traditional country like no other modern Nashville album. I appreciate her sense of humor on the barb-trading duet with Blake Shelton "You Ain't Dolly (And You Ain't Porter)." She definitely can't wear Dolly's bras, but the crown of the best country songwriter can fit her just fine.
